Help us through the winter
From November to March the 14 horses at the Kara-Bulak pasture eat about 15 bales of hay each a month, and lucerne at Kara-Bulak station is 26 som a bale. 400 som keeps one old horse for a month. If you would like to look after one horse for the winter, write to us and we will send you its photograph and a note in the spring.
We need
- Hay and lucerne, delivered or paid for. A farmer near Kara-Bulak can deliver; we will tell you how.
- Old horse blankets, halters and buckets (we mend them).
- Horseshoe nails and rasps. Farriers: we will gladly take your old rasps.
- A trailer for one horse. Ours fell apart in August.
- Volunteers for the open day on 14 November and for feeding on winter weekends. You do not need to know horses: we will show you.
